Our annual Bird-A-Thon

Saturday May 18, 2024

Our popular Bird-A-Thon fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 18th. We look for birds for a 24-hour period, either as individuals or teams, in Westchester County. We end with a compilation dinner on Saturday May 18, usually at Applebee’s on Executive Blvd in Yonkers. Start time is 6 PM on Friday, May 17 and you and your team can bird and owl until 5:59 PM on May 18. Let Michael Bochnik know if you are interested in participating, either on a team or on your own.

We usually find 115 - 120 species. All are welcome to the compilation dinner at Applebee’s - let Michael Bochnik know if you plan to come.

The rain date is Sunday, May 19.

You can donate by either a fixed amount or per species. The per species donation method goes like this: you promise a fixed amount (say 50 cents) per species found. You can support an individual or a team (usually there are two, the Raven Loon-a-tics and the Bird Nerds). For each species found, you donate 50 cents. If the Bird Nerds find 80 species, your contribution would be $40. This method keeps the teams going even when they start to flag.

The Bird-A-Thon is the major fund raiser for Hudson River Audubon. We hope you will support us with a donation (with credit card via PayPal).

If you prefer to send a check, make it payable to Hudson River Audubon Society.
